What is a Cookie Consent Banner?

A cookie consent banner is a cookie notification that is displayed on websites and other apps in the form of a banner or pop-up upon the user’s visit that explicitly asks for users' consent before deploying cookies. It does not just inform the user about cookies on a website but asks for their consent first. The cookie consent banner must be sufficiently noticeable and in an easily accessible form. The text of the banner must be in clear, plain, and unambiguous language for the average user to understand.

The website will already have a free cookie banner tool integrated and accessible for use. On the top right corner, you will have the option to install/ uninstall it.

Within the App settings section, you will be able to add texts to be displayed in the language of your target market as the Cookie banner has a multilingual option.

Cookie Banner Visibility

Mandatory – the user cannot continue browsing without accepting or declining cookies. This is the recommended setting if you offer your services in countries that handle GDPR strictly. 

In the screen's middle, the cookies option window will display.

• Optional – the user can continue browsing without accepting or declining cookies. The cookies window will appear at the bottom part of the screen.

For it to be visible you need to select Publish app by activating the toggle.

These include cookies that help monitor site traffic and analytics, as well as cookies that enable you to run tests and optimize your site’s experience.

Marketing Cookies

Cookies that allow you to tailor and measure the effectiveness of your advertising. Such cookies may be capable of understanding your user’s interests across other sites and building up a profile used for remarketing purposes. If the user does not allow these cookies, he may experience less tailored advertisements.

Personalization

When inserting custom scripts from third-party apps, make sure to adjust the app settings for the cookie banner. If you wish to use another one, simply paste the script in the section within theming.
